Modeled in Mudbox. This one is rendered with Vray. Later on I switched to Maxwell because Vray couldn't handle so many poly's.
In the end I've changed the lighting, I didn't like the photoreal look for this one. It's not a horror picture, but more like a mystic-fantasy type. Vray render this time.
For the background I rendered several boxes in the scene,with wireframe, so I can work on the same perspective. The camera FOV was pretty wide, 12mm I think, so it was a bit difficult to just go ahead in Photoshop, without the wireframe reference.
I know...it's messy. I didn't use any displacement maps, I just imported the geometry from Mudbox. Bad move :)
I've rendered the image at 5000 pixels wide. This is a detail.
